2013 Year in Review of Weddings & Catering

As we wrap up 2013 we wanted to give you a little recap of the trends and events we saw in 2013. The year was filled joy and wonder for brides and husbands to be. We catered over 500 events at over 50 different wedding venues in Washington. The most popular wedding venue of choice in 2013 seemed to be Kelly Farm while our own Liberty Theater wedding venue came in the top 3 .

According to Google the top 10 honeymoon locations were:

We noticed ourselves that newlyweds to be tended to mention Hawaii as their #1 choice of honeymoon destination.

The most requested dishes in 2013 were:

Boneless Chicken Marsala
Penne pasta in a light creme sauce with sun dried tomatoes and artichoke hearts
Braised beef short ribs in our sour cherry demi-glace

The 2 most popular colors chosen were:

Gray
Champagne

The two most popular themes were:

Shabby Chic – a rustic barn, burlap, aged look featuring signs of wear and tear with a cottage-style decor.
Vintage – throwback birdhouse look

Worst thing to happen to weddings in 2013 was TWERKING!

The most amazing wedding experience we saw at a wedding in 2013 was a bride who honored her recently passed parent by releasing hundreds of lanterns into the night sky.
